TIME FOR A SPRING CLEAN? Maintain your hot tub with these easy steps…
Maintaining the cleanliness of your hot tub is easy when you know how. It all just rests upon a little common sense and basic knowledge of water chemistry. Don’t panic, that isn’t as scary as it sounds!
FILTERS – Keep them clean and keep the water circulating through them. Remove & rinse them down every week. Clean them with filter cleaner monthly. Soak them in chemical cleaner whenever you change the water. Replace when the material starts to wear.
CHEMICALS – Ensure your water is sanitised with Bromine OR Chlorine. ‘Shock’ the water during periods of inactivity. Use test strips to check the PH of the water before you take a dip, adjust the chemicals as necessary to achieve the optimum PH (between 7.2 – 7.6)
CLEANLINESS – Sounds obvious but make sure that YOU are clean before you get in. Keep it covered when not in use. Wipe down the hot tubs surfaces often. Replace the water every 3-4 months, depending on how often you use it. Simple.
